MUHAMMADU SANUSI I&II OF THE KANO EMIRATE
In 1963, the outspoken Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi I was deposed from the throne by the premier of Northern Nigeria for allegedly misappropriation of public funds (the claims couldn't be confirmed). Sanusi I was known for promoting few of his servants to Royal parliament members, criticism against bad governance etc.
In March 2020, his grandson and the then Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II (pic above) was deposed as Emir for alleged insubordination to the state's governor. Sanusi II is known for his criticism against bad governance, anti people policies and the poor state of the economy. Back in 2014, Sanusi II was sacked as Governor of Nigeria's Central Bank after he release a memo where he accused Nigeria's Petroleum company of not remitting $20bn (proceeds of crude sale).
